The importance of the method in the company’s operative processes
Would you allow your employees and collaborators to work without a specific method?
Rhetorical question! Obviously the answer is only one: NO!
All companies adopt and use a specific method in all their most important internal processes, and they are often jealous keepers: from the historical baker which would send the boy out when putting the ingredients for the kneading, to other visual barriers used to hide the production methods from the visitors of the company. These and many other gestures suggest that the method has a primary importance in the company’s operative processes.
Despite this, not all of the company’s operating and organizational processes follow an actual method. Often some operations which are not related only to the core of the company’s activity, or to the job safety theme, are unfortunately not applied using a precise method, understood as a series of procedures already tested and scientifically applied.
Often, also persons in charge inside the company follow their personal method “I was taught like this” or “I have always done like this and nobody complained until now”, instead of their own, specific and functional method.
This type of traditional, old, idle and non-productive method have no place in today’s hyper competitive world. Each company’s operative process must be performed through a constantly updated and improved functional method according to the Business Process Improvement (BPI) model, if they want to stay on the market long and grow constantly.
Many big companies have been following this road already for a long time, in Italy and in all Europe, entrusting various company operational processes to very specialized professionals able to apply them as well as possible, using a really efficient and productive method.
This allows them to obtain better quality results, increase the company’s productivity and release the internal resources of marginal tasks, which are not strictly specialized, so they can focus fully on their real task and on the real core of the company.
Now, dear reader, focus a little:
- Are you REALLY sure that your company observes a precise method in EACH process of the company?
- Is each small, but indispensable operative process performed scientifically, updated, tested and constantly improved?
- Do you use instinct to search and choose your staff or do you use specific and functional pre-employment selective exams? Do you leave everything in the hands of an unspecialized recruitment collaborator or an intermediary company, or in the hands of professionals which are really experts in the field?
- Which are the unique and specific operative crossings which form your research, selection, training, management and staff motivation method?
- Does your commercial method follow a precise operational method? Does it have a real script or “scenario” to use in the sales negotiations?
- How do you take care of your company’s image?
Taking care of ALL operational aspects using a precise and efficient METHOD, without leaving anything to chance is a fundamental thing for an excellent organization of the company, an improvement of the staff’s quality, an increase of the company’s turnover and success.
REMEMBER THAT THE FAILURE OF MANY COMPANIES IS NOTHING ELSE THAN THE AMOUNT OF MANY COMPANIES OPERATIONS PERFORMED BY CHANSE, INSTINCTIVELY, WITHOUT A PRECISE METHOD!
